Here is another way to experience without actually going there some of the cultural and natural sites inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Provided by WHTour, this non-profit organization aims to make an archive of panoramic photographs and VR movies of all the World Heritage sites to promote awareness of their preservation and the notion of sustainable tourism. Add it to your list along with TerraServer, Google Map, Google Earth, and flickr for vicarious tourism. (Hmm, armchair travel the most sustainable kind of tourism?)
